Working Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working on a full-time basis. This role focuses on ensuring the continued operation and compliance of mechanical systems within a commercial or industrial environment. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a range of systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all plant and equipment to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements.

  • Maintain domestic water systems in line with L8 (Legionella) standards, including regular water flushing and temperature checks.

  • Identify and swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to ensure continuous operation.

  • Carry out the following routine daily and weekly maintenance checks and tasks:

    • Interceptor checks

    • Sprinkler pump house inspections

    • Fire extinguisher checks

    • Fire exit door checks

    • Shutter checks

    • CET system checks

    • Compressed air system checks

    • Legionella maintenance (including water flushing and temperature monitoring)

    • Plant room and pump house inspections

  • Carry out general handyman works and assist with wider site maintenance as required.

  • Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records, checklists, and compliance documentation.

  • Follow site health and safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or equivalent qualification.

  • Previous experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role, ideally within a commercial or industrial setting.

  • Strong understanding of domestic water systems and Legionella compliance (L8).

  • Ability to identify faults and carry out efficient, safe repairs.

  • Comfortable with a variety of maintenance tasks including inspections, testing, and basic handyman duties.

  • CSCS card or equivalent (preferred).

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
