Assembly Operative – Engineering Manufacturing

Location: Wombwell, Barnsley (S73)
Pay Rate: From £12.71 per hour (rising to £17.18 per hour depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Shift: Monday-Friday rotating shifts (Days / Afters)

The Opportunity

Winner Recruitment is currently recruiting for Assembly Operatives to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Wombwell, Barnsley.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environments. Full training and development opportunities are available for the right person.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling finished products and machinery components to a high standard, working from engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures.

The Role

  • Carry out assembly operations to meet quality and production standards

  • Assemble finished machines, components, and mechanical systems

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

  • Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions

  • Fit and align components accurately

  • Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process

  • Maintain accurate production records

  • Keep the working area clean and organised

  • Follow all health & safety procedures

  • Support continuous improvement activities

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous assembly, manufacturing, or engineering experience desirable

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools

  • Ability to follow instructions and technical drawings

  • Good attention to detail and quality focus

  • Reliable and willing to learn

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • FLT licence (training available)

  • Engineering assembly experience

  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment

Package

  • Starting rate from £12.71 per hour
