About the Company:
We are working in partnership with a Award Winning Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor that delivers high-quality projects across commercial sectors. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of upcoming work, they are looking to add an experienced and motivated Mechanical Estimator to their team.
The Role:
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical elements of building services projects. You’ll work closely with the pre-construction, design, and commercial teams to ensure that all tenders are thoroughly reviewed, costed, and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Mechanical Estimator you will prepare detailed mechanical estimates for a range of M&E projects.
- You will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to assess scope and risks.
- As a Mechanical Estimator you will liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- You will attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
- As a Mechanical Estimator you will support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
- You will work collaboratively with the electrical estimating and commercial departments.
- Assist in value engineering exercises and cost-saving proposals.
Requirements:
- As a mechanical estimator you must hold be Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the M&E or building services sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Ensign, Estimation) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
