Winner Recruitment are currently supporting a Legal company based in North Birmingham with the recruitment of their new Conveyancer. You will be advising clients on buying and selling properties, dealing with residential sales, purchases, transfer of equity, re mortgages and help to buy, and you must have experience in Conveyancing and be qualified to Solicitor level.

You will be a vital part of the team, providing important legal advice to a portfolio of clients.

The duties of the Conveyancer will be:

  • Advising clients on buying and selling properties
  • Dealing with Residential Sale, Purchase, Transfer of Equity, Re-mortgages, Unregistered, Help to Buy transactions
  • Dealing with financial aspects of the sale or purchase
  • Drafting letters and legal documents
  • Checking title documents to properties
  • Liaising directly with other parties with enquiries and replies
  • Undertaking searches with Local Authority, Land Registry etc
  • Reporting to clients with relevant information on their transaction and advising clients where necessary
  • Attending upon clients to sign legal documents
  • Drawing up completion statements
  • Agreeing dates with all parties and exchanging contracts
  • Arranging the transfer of monies on completion
  • Submitting stamp duty forms and registering documents at Land Registry
  • Complying with Solicitors Accounts Rules and Rules of Professional Conduct of solicitors
  • Exercising high standards of client care at all times
  • Management of own support staff and secretary if applicable
  • Financial control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures on own matters.
  • Dealing with checking of bank statements and ensuring that AML regulations are followed as per the company’s policies
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of firm’s and client’s documentation and information
  • Carrying out any other duties relevant to the position as and when required by the Director of the Firm
  • Keeping the client up to date by phone, email, post and face-to-face meetings
  • Liaising with other professionals including lenders and other legal teams
  • Dealing with post-completion for all transactions, including unregistered and Transfer of Parts and ensuring that all files are archived in a timely manner
  • Managing referrals from various estate agents and managing their respective portals

The ideal Conveyancing will have:

  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Solicitor
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to prioritise effectively
  • Responsibility of self-development and comply with relevant training requirements and in-house training when required

Salary for this role will be circa £35,000

Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 9.15am – 5.15pm
